Whether you’ve just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we would love to welcome you to St Augustine’s for any of the services or activities that we offer.
Most information such as services, prayer, midweek activities and life events can be found under the community life menu.
But here’s some additional information that hopefully will help.
You will receive a very warm welcome, whether you come to a Sunday service or a midweek event.
On a Sunday our Welcome Team will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be singing, Bible readings, prayers, sermon and Communion at our morning service.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions
At our afternoon service there is much more movement and informality, there will still be singing, a bible reading, short talk and prayers but each bit is shorter and there is also craft and chat about the bible reading and talk.
A meal is served after the service, giving opportunity for more meeting new people and asking questions
Midweek you will receive just as friendly a welcome and can join in as much or as little as you like. There is no pressure on you to do anything in particular – you are free to join in or just sit and observe what goes on and we will try to respect your needs and answer any questions you may have.
Children are very welcome at all services and activities that we offer. All our Sunday services are intergenerational as we believe that children are part of the church now and Sundays are the time when we come together to worship God.
We offer a midweek teaching session for children and young people in the same way we offer home groups to adults. This happens on Thursdays between 3:30 and 4:30pm in the church.
We are able to offer support and resources to parents who would like to take seriously the Bible’s teaching to impress upon our children God’s teaching both in our homes and as we walk along the road.
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your ‘normal’ clothes.
We have a car park next to the church which can be accessed from Rock Avenue between the Vicarage and the Shaw Memorial Hall. You will need to collect a Parking Permit from the church and display it in your car as the car park is monitored by a Parking company who issue parking fines to ensure that there is available parking for those visiting the church.
