Your wedding is one of the most important moments in your life, making promises in the presence of God to love each other and receiving his blessings over your future together.
St Augustine’s is a beautiful space in which to get married and you would be following in the footsteps of many hundreds of couples who have chosen to make their vows in that space. We want to do everything we can to make your day as special as possible and so please get in touch and we will do our best to answer all your questions.
Once you are all signed up you and your fiancé(e) will also be invited to take part in a marriage preparation course to help prepare you for life beyond your wedding day.

Baptism is about going public about your faith; it means telling the world that you are to follow Jesus for the rest of your life. Baptism is the next step after coming to know Jesus. If you have not been baptised yet but trust in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please get in touch.
Baptism marks the start of the journey of a committed Christian. It is an amazing moment for the individual, their friends and relations, and for the whole church family.
We love to baptise older children, youth and adults. These services provide a great opportunity to hear what God has been doing in their lives to lead them to this point.
If you have a baby or young child and want to commit to bringing them up within the Church through regular attendance on Sunday as well as reading the Bible and praying at home we would love to talk to you about baptism. This is sometimes called christening them.
If you were baptised as a baby you can renew the vows made for you through a confirmation service.

Planning a funeral is never an easy thing to do, and it is something that most of us would rather not think about. But as a Parish Church we are here to support you at every age and stage of life.
If you would like a Church of England minister to conduct the funeral, please do get in touch either directly or through your funeral director.
If you would like some bereavement support or prayer, even if we are not conducting the funeral for you, please do make contact and we would be pleased to help in any way we can.

If you have questions about the Christian faith – then Alpha is a great place to ask those questions – Alpha is a series that explores the basics of the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks.
Each week begins with a meal, followed by a talk looking at a different topic around an aspect of the Christian faith. This is followed up with a small group discussion about the talk, you can say anything at all or just listen if you’d prefer.

Home Groups consist of a small group of people from the church community who meet together fortnightly to fellowship with each other, study the bible together, pray and support each other and share God’s love with those around them.
We have several groups that meet in and around the Parish.

This is an open coffee morning for the community.
Every Wednesday Morning 9:00 – 11:00am in the Church
All are welcome so come and enjoy free refreshments and friendly chat with others from the community.
There is also a variety of games and jigsaws available for you to enjoy.
Our Place of Welcome also serves as a community hub for the local area and many local agencies are available to offer support where needed.
Paramount offer a free keep fit class for all, CAB offer a free Debt advice clinic, both weekly and during term time there are free craft activities available.
Medway recycling are regular visitors and you can pick up food caddies, recycling bags and recycling advice from their stand.
Other agencies attending on a regular basis are Sateda, Mind, Puzzles,
The last Wednesday in the month hosts our book club – a chance to discuss that month’s book – we are always on the lookout for new members and it certainly broadens your reading material.

Thrive Thursday offers a variety of activities throughout the day focusing on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Some activities only run twice a month. But all activities are offered free of charge.

We believe that God moves in power as we come to him with our prayer requests and so we offer prayer ministry during communion in
We have Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who all meet weekly during term time here at St Augustine’s.
They are encouraged to join with worship at Family Eucharist services and usually support the Christmas Fair and Summer Garden Party.
Some of the leaders across the sections are regular members of the congregation and there is effective communication between St Augustine’s and the uniformed groups.

Within the Parish we are fortunate to have two schools one of which – Chatham Grammar School for Girls – sits more or less opposite the church.
The other school – Byron Road – is a primary school and is no more than a ten minute walk from St Augustine’s.
Both schools use the church with the respective Head Teachers regular visitors and very much supportive of our future vision and community work.
Elsewhere the community comprises many occupational groups with healthcare professionals, our own local “high street” on the A2 with independent and other traders, a funeral director, pubs and eating establishments along with a Premier Inn, B&Q superstore and retail outlets.
